2019 Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid First Drive Review | Green, but not unseasoned

Auto Blog News Feed - Mon, 05/14/2018 - 23:01

By now, most Porschephiles accept the existence of the rolling cash cow that is the Porsche Cayenne. Count us among them: Crossovers and SUVs sell, and building cars is a business. The success of the Cayenne, Macan and Panamera has allowed Porsche to continue to build cars like the 911 GT3 RS, Cayman GT4 and the 918 Spyder. But it's not just enough to play dress-up with a Porsche badge. A Porsche needs to feel special, too.

Today, The New York Times published an article about a dozen deaths related to drivers leaving their cars running, closing their garages and later succumbing to carbon monoxide poisoning. The reason has been identified as "keyless start" features, or proximity entry and push-button start, where owners don't need to physically handle a key or fob to gain entry into the vehicle or start it. It is the latest, and deadliest, issue raised with this system after those related to security and simple in

Auto Blog News Feed - Mon, 05/14/2018 - 21:11

Last summer, Volkswagen introduced a new subcompact crossover SUV called the T-Roc. It featured funky, chunky styling (at least as far as VWs are concerned) along with the segment's popular contrasting roof color options. VW has also made it apparent that it plans to expand the line with a convertible, and based on these spy shots, it may add a performance model. Perhaps a VW T-Roc GTI, or a T-Roc R.

Auto Blog News Feed - Mon, 05/14/2018 - 20:01

The 2019 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk is the refreshed version of a model that debuted back in 2014. It was a controversial model. Opinions were mixed on the styling — especially the front fascia — and some considered it an insult to the Cherokee name. Still, we liked that version so much we spent a full year with one. It proved to be a solid and reliable crossover that racked up more than 27,000 miles in just 12 months.
